......2012 season.....
Registration:
Q. How old do you have to be to sign up with TYSA?
A. Players need to be 4 to 18 years old on July 31, 2012.

Q. My child turns 4 years old on Aug. 2, 2011 can he/she play?
A. No, the child needs to be 4 years old on or before July 31, 2012

Q. How do I register him/her?

A. There are 3 ways to register
1. WALK IN: Come to a walk-in registration (please see flyer with dates and times)
2. ONLINE

3. MAIL: Fill out the registration form (1601) and then mail it with your payment by check, or money order and required documents (See next question) to the TYSA office. TYSA, 1522 Fulkerth Rd, Turlock, CA 95380)

Q. How do I know what documents are needed to register?
A. We need the following documents:
1. The registration form (1601)
2. The correct registration fee (early $85 if completed by May 31st, $95 after May 31st ) You can still get the $85.00 pricing thru June 30th by registering online.

 

 3. A copy of the birth certificate for any new player or player that has not played in the last 3 years.
4. A current 1x1 picture for any player that is 10-17 years old
5. A current copy of a student ID card or drivers license for any player that is 14-17 years old.

Q. Is there any family discount?
A. No, we do offer payment plans if you register in person at the 1st registration May 19th

Q. Can I have someone register my child (ren) for me if I fill out the forms?
A. Yes you may have an adult family member over the age of 18 or an
adult friend over the age of 18 come to a walk-in registration with a
note from you saying they have your permission to register your
child (ren). You as the parent or designated guardian must personally
sign the form 1601.

 

 

Q. Can I request for my child (ren) to be on a team with a friend or a
specified coach?
A. You may request a friend or a coach but we cannot guarantee the
request will be honored.

Q. Can I request to be on a team from Delhi, Denair, Hilmar, Hughson
and Stevinson etc..?
A. Yes you can. We try to place all the players from the different
communities together. We cannot promise to honor all requests, but we
try.

Coaching:

Q. What do I need to do if I want to be a coach or an assistant coach
for my child (ren)?
A. You will need to fill out the volunteer form (1628). (The
form will is available here on the website.) Please include your childs name on form

Q. If I fill out the volunteer form and turn it do I automatically
become a coach?
A. No you do not, all Coaches are approved by the Coaching Coordinator

Q. Where do I get the volunteer form?
A. You can fill out a form at the walk in registration or print and
fill out forms on-line. (form 1628)

Q. Do I need to have an assistant coach?
A. TYSA recommends that you have an assistant coach in case you are
unable to make a practice or a game. Without a registered and approved
coach the team may not be allowed to play and the team that is at the
field and ready to play may not get to play as well.

Q. When do I get my team roster, uniforms and anything else I need?
A. A coach's packet and uniforms will be handed out at the preseason
kickoff on Aug. 18th.

Q. Can I get my coaches packet, uniforms and equipment before the
preseason kickoff?
A. Sorry, but no. You will need to come to the kickoff. If you are
unable to be there then please send you Asst. Coach in your place.

Q. When are the coaches meetings for my age group?
A. At the Kick-off. Please clear your calendar for August 18th 2012, players
and coaches.

Q. What do I do if I have a sponsor or can get one?
A. A sponsor form needs to be filled out and turned in with payment by
August 1, 2012.

Referee:
Q. How old do I have to be to become a referee?
A. You need to be at least 13 by August 1st.

Q. What do I need to do to become a referee?
A. Attend an 18 hour class and pass a USSF referee test. Please contact
our referee coordinator, Tracey Donahue, at reftysa@gmail.com and put
referee info in the subject line.

Q. Is there a referee class?
A. Yes there is a referee class. To be scheduled.

Q. Can I attend a referee class in another city?
A. Yes, you may attend a class in another city and successfully pass
the USSF referee exam and received your badge.

Q. Is there a fee for the referee class?
A. Yes, there is a class fee which varies from city to city and the
referee license fee to USSF is $40. You only pay the license fee after
you take the class and pass the referee test.

 

Miscellaneous:
Q. When do practices start? What days and times?
A. Practices will start after the August 18th kick off. The days, times and locations are decided by each coach.

Q. Do I need to buy a uniform or anything else?
A. The uniform including shorts, jersey and sock are provided. You will need to provide shin guards. Shin guards are mandatory at practices and
games.

Q. When does the season start? When does the season end?
A. The season starts on Sat, Sept 8, 2012 and ends after 9 weeks of the season, there may be a bye weekend during the season.

Q. Is there a Jamboree/Tournament this year?
A. Yes we are planning on the Jamboree at the end of recreational season tournament (U10 and above) all teams are required to participate November 12th and 13th.

Q. When is picture day? Is there a make day?
A. Picture day will be posted soon.

Q. When and where are the soccer games?
A. All games will be played on Saturdays at the Turlock Sports Complex
behind Pitman High School. The end of year jamboree or tournament is
Saturday and Sunday.

Q. What time are the soccer games?
A. The first games start at 8:00am and are scheduled throughout the day, most age groups are done by 3:30pm.

Q. Who do I contact if I move or have a change of phone number or email before, during or after the season?
A. Please contact the registrar, Tami Muniz, with the new information. She can be reached by email at tysasoccer@att.net .

Q. When will the coach contact me for practices?
A. Coaches will be getting their packets at the preseason kickoff on Sat, Aug 18st. It may take a week for all of the coaches to contact their players.

Q. Recreational Soccer Registration is now closed, can my son or daughter still play this season?
A. If we still have space, yes! Go the the web site to check for waiting list sign ups.
